Face-to-Face Communication for Teenagers

As the transition from high school, to college, to the workplace becomes more competitive than ever, it’s important for young adults to balance the demands of school, work and relationships, with their future goals in sight.

This workshop creates a roadmap for young people to thrive in the real world.  It covers the skills and confidence they need to authentically distinguish themselves from their peers, and discover their full potential.  Many young people lack the social relationship skills needed to interact with adults in the business world.

Participation in this workshop will help teens develop communication skills beyond their device, and start engaging with others in a meaningful way.  Young people will also discover how to handle and even seek out new responsibilities while becoming better able to cope with the pressures that adolescents face.

At Boston School of Etiquette, we call them “life skills.” The course content focuses on five key areas that are critical for future success:

  • Building Self-confidence
  • Enhancing Communication Skills
  • Interpersonal Skill Development
  • Teamwork and Leadership Skills
  • Professionalism

This class is designed to help teens survive and thrive with tools needed for successful social interactions.

After completion of this class, students will be better prepared to:

  • Initiate proper greetings and introductions with adults and authority figures
  • Develop awareness of body language, eye contact and tone of voice
  • Start a conversation, keep a conversation going, and leave a positive impression
  • Handle and understand the interview process for summer employment
  • Create a 30 second elevator pitch
  • Reap the benefits of a positive attitude
